Sponsored by the Illinois State Crime Commission and the Police Athletic League (ISCC/PAL), the 22nd Annual "Salute To Those Who Make A Difference" recently honored River Grove Village President Dave Guerin as Mayor of the Year. According to the ISCC, the event honored a group of judges, state's attorneys, police chiefs, educators and elected officials who epitomize the values and ideals that the ISCC/PAL embodies as an organization.
"Being recognized by an organization like the Illinois State Crime Commission demonstrates this administration's commitment to public safety," said Mayor Guerin. "River Grove is, and will continue to be, one of the safest communities to live in and do business in. I would personally like to thank the Illinois State Crime Commission for including me in their impressive program and for even considering me to add to their list of distinguished honorees. I accept this honor on behalf of my Village Board, department heads, first responders, staff members and residents of River Grove."
ISCC Executive Director Jerry Elsner was proud to recognize honorees like Mayor Guerin who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty.
"I congratulate all of our recipients and thank them for their dedication to the citizens of Illinois, our law enforcement community and to the United States," stated Elsner.
