From the Chief of Police regarding the 4th of July weekend -
ENFORCEMENT:
River Grove residents are reminded that the possession, sale, and use of most consumer fireworks are illegal in the state and in the village. Starting today and running through the 4th of July, police staffing has been increased in anticipation of a busier than usual holiday weekend. Residents are urged to call the police on an as-needed basis.
PET SAFETY:
To help ensure the safety of your pets, please do not leave them outside especially in the evening when there is a higher chance of fireworks going off around or outside of our community. Also, ensure that your yard is secure and that gates are latched. When about to enter or exit your residence, or yard, move pets away from opening doors/gates to decrease the chance of them becoming startled and bolting out. Please call the police to report lost or escaped pets immediately.
River Grove residents may register their pet(s) with the village online https://www.rivergroveil.gov/314/Online-Services.
