After securing a $385,000 grant from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, the Village of River Grove is about to move forward with the 2019 Green Alley Improvements Project. Work is scheduled to begin in the last part of October. This project is designed not only to provide residents with new pavement but also to improve drainage.

This project will address three alleys in town:

  • Alley 318: the north-south alley between Oak Street and Maple Street, bounded by Herrick Avenue and Roosevelt Lane
  • Alley 319: the north-south alley between Maple Street and Wood Street, bounded by Herrick Avenue and Roosevelt Lane
  • Alley 327: the north-south alley between Maple Street and Wood Street from Fullerton Avenue to Herrick Avenue

Property owners will not have access to their garages during this project.
