Trustee / Chairperson of Public Safety Committee

Mike has been a resident of River Grove for over 25 years and is married with a teenage daughter.  He currently serves the Village of River Grove as the newest elected trustee and is the chairperson of the Public Safety Committee.

Public Service

Mike’s previous public service includes a 4-year term as a trustee on the River Grove School Board (2013 – 2017).  As a school board member, he served on the Finance Committee, the Building and Grounds Committee and the Superintendent Evaluation Committee.  In addition to his committee work, Mike participated in employee contract negotiations on behalf of the school board and he participated in the creation of River Grove School’s strategic plan.


Professionally, Mike has been a sworn police officer in Franklin Park since 1989 and he is currently assigned to the position of Commander of Criminal Investigations. For over 19 years Mike served as a union representative and negotiating team member for the police officer's association.  As an administrator, Mike currently participates in contract negotiations on the village side.  Needless to say, Mike brings invaluable bargaining experience from both sides of the negotiating table.


In 2013, Mike returned to college to finish earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Administration. In December of 2016, he completed that curriculum and received a bachelor's degree from Governors State University.  In the Spring of 2017, Mike started a graduate program at Concordia University.  On December 15, 2018, Mike graduated from Concordia, with a GPA of 3.97 out of 4 and earned a master's degree in Organizational Leadership.
